Fine Art is usually defined as the opposite of
commercial art. The artist creates by listening to his soul and gives no thought to what
the rest of the world will think. Commercial art is created solely to please the masses,
and quite often the only purpose is to sell a product. I believe in combining both fine
and commercial art in my work. I listen to my soul and follow my muse. But I also believe
that the masses may find value in my work and so I don't shun commercial work. I
could never
overrule my soul in order to sell a product, but I can certainly use my artistic impulses to create
images appreciated by more than just a few. None of these images were not created to sell a
product. But they don't differ that much from my commercial work. Do they?
Four of the above images are self-portraits. Can you pick them out?
Self-portraits are quite often the most interesting and revealing pieces an
artist does. For more of mine, see my ongoing self-portrait series.
